Blog Rewind... Because I'm Behind!

I am SO far behind on my blogging that it is just a wonder that I am even starting... one post at a time right? With our TWO Christmases, Kaki's 6 month birthday, and Caden's TWO birthday parties these posts stack up quickly...

Okay so here we go...

Let's start where we left off and go straight up until Christmas Eve afternoon, shall we?! Come on, let's go...

Each year Justin employs his personal chef to bake some home goods for his coworkers! This year Chef Katia (don't you think it sounds more impressive if I'm suddenly foreign?) baked upwards of 200 cookies/candy ... phew! It was fun and messy and sticky... and DELICIOUS! :)

So good in fact that BOB got into the left-overs aka BURNT cookies one evening and left us a note asking if we, "got milk?!" Silly, BOB! Since Bob was having cookies for breakfast that morning we decided to too... not that it took much arm-twisting!

And during all of the cookie making fun I managed to drop a pair of kitchen shears on my foot... and I wanted someone else to feel my pain so I took a pic and sent it to Justin and KK and since I saw it in my photo gallery I thought, "What the heck? I'll post it here too!" You're welcome!

The kids and I obviously had some trips to HEB in store in December... I mean 200 cookies don't just make themselves... and there are still dinners and such to be had. On one particular trip in which Caden had been exceptionally pleasant he asked EVER so desperately for a Minnie balloon... at first I was a bit concerned for his recent Minnie love (this was not the first ask for something Minnie) but once I saw the "Hey Baby!" look he gave her once I put it in his hands I was okay and also figured that his rough-n-tough camo hat evened the playing field... so bring on the Minnie dolls!

KK came to visit the week before Christmas! It had been a while since we had seen her so we were all super excited to have her come and stay! While she was visiting, BOB was up to his usual antics... toilet papering the tree one night...

And then wrapping himself to the lamp as if he really thought that we'd believe that someone else did the wrapping and tied him up in the process... come, on BOB! We know!!

The next morning Bob was actually taken hostage by Caden's ferocious zoo of animal figurines... apparently they were concerned that he might be up to no good again and decided to tie him up to a stake and guard him for the day... oh dear! I am afraid Bob and his consultant were a bit aggressive for my tastes this year ... I am thinking that Bob might need to find a more feminine counterpart to help him navigate his Christmas adventures in the Cox house next year! Geez!

Sweet Kaki and KK had a tender moment one afternoon while she was staying with us... it was the sweetest thing ever and I was not one bit jealous... HA! :)

Let's see, let's see... so one night when KK was with us we took her to see a few lights around town and took her to her very first coordinated music/light show... she thought that was the coolest! And so did we... I think we did three different houses like that this year! We love us some Christmas light looking!

The Friday before Christmas, Justin was off of work so we split up... the boys... and the girls and scattered about town trying to wrap up the last minute items on our Christmas lists. It was cold that day so I bundled Kaki up in her new coat which we scored during an impromptu shopping trip when Kk was in town... isn't she the cutest little pink minky dot ever?

On Christmas Eve morning we were so excited to get to attend one of our friend's Christmas Eve morning teas! Last year we were traveling and unable to go... it is a tradition of our friend's family and I just think it is the neatest thing... really gets things kicked off right! Caden of course had to get all dolled up because who knew who he might see?! So he chose to wear his boots naturally! :)

And Kaki chose to wear one of her new outfits...

And she had on big girl shoes... cutest thing ever! But no bow in this picture... and in most of our pictures lately because girlfriend has decided that they make excellent chew toys and rips those suckers right on off and in the mouth they go... but that doesn't mean I won't keep trying! :)

On Christmas Eve afternoon while Kaki was napping and Mommy was wrapping gifts, Justin and Caden decided to watch a movie on the couch together... in preparation for the big Christmas Eve church service that night we figured he needed to lay low and relax... and we didn't make him nap because well... I don't remember why... but a movie sounded fun!

So they watched Dolphin Tale and I think they both thoroughly enjoyed it...

And there you have it... we're right on up to Christmas Eve now... OH but shoot... I just realized I missed our family date night on Friday night before Christmas... I have ONE (of MANY attempts) picture to show y'all of that... haven't uploaded those pics yet... hang in there with me...

More to come...
