Catching Up... Lazy-Lady Style

It's no secret that I am behind, and embarrassingly so. So I did some Valentine's Day recaps but now what? Where do I begin? Do I go ALL the way back to Caden's birthday which is where I previously left off? Sure... let's do that, but let's not separate out events... let's just photo dump it and hit the highlights shall we?

Otherwise, my post would be well... this week... so and so got sick... and then two days later so and so got sick and then just when we thought so and so was getting better so and so got sick... and who wants to go through those details? No one... and I am pretty sure that I'll remember this particular cold and flu season without much documentation! :)

One day in January it was cold and wet and super cloudy... so we decided to do some tent building...

And some pony tail making...

And some more tent building... with friends...

And then we did some glow sticking!! It was so dark outside that when we turned off all of our lights in the house we had quite the set-up for a FULL morning of glow stick fun. It was awesome! I think every mom needs a back of glow sticks at her disposal!

More pony tail pics...

Also in January... Daddy came home with the flu... and so we did LOTS of playing outside... even in the rain... better than being inside with the germie! :) This particular day Caden convinced Kaki to push him on the tricycle! Sisters! Brothers! Sigh! :)

On day three of Daddy's battle with the flu he came out and had a picnic with us... it was the best way to spend time with him... outside...fresh air... otherwise we kept him sequestered! :)

Rainy day fun again...I am pretty sure my neighbors thought we were crazy... but ...

We even took a stroll... with Bitty...

But when we rounded the corner to come back home look what we found... BITTY... overboard!! No one let me know!!

C was off on his scooter and Kaki just silently snickered at Bitty's bite in the dust!

Caden and I had a date night to HEB after Kaki went to bed one day... and it just so happened that we dressed like twinkies! :)

We love our dancing MICKEY!! One night we were all dancing around the kitchen counter with Mickey when suddenly Mickey got a little bit out of hand and danced right into the kitchen sink! Hilarious!!

Silly pic of my littles!

One day Kaki and I took advantage of Caden being at school and did some outdoor playin! She was very inventive with our modes of transportation... sweet Penelope was such a trooper! :)

A girl in her heels... adorbs!

Oh... this is me and my friend BIG HUGE ZIT... it lasted for DAYS! And I have a scar!! Isn't is pretty?!!

Crazy night at the Coxes!

One weekend in late January, Justin left the kids and I to our own devices and went on a hunting trip...

When the cat's away...

The kiddos will go to the park early Saturday morning!!

And then go to the circus that afternoon!!

And wake up the next morning with pink eye...

Wait... that wasn't part of the plan... :)

We had a fun weekend but were really glad to see Daddy when he came home with lots of of deer meat and some antlers for Mommy's wall! :)

Then we went to CC for a fun trip the following week. We were ready to kick back, relax and enjoy some time with KK and Albi!!

Our trip didn't exactly go as we planned...

We spent lots of time in the doctor's office... (with our favorite picture of our cousin puppies in tow)...

Kaki got the flu and a double ear infection to boot...

And life wasn't like a day at the beach for a few days for her...

Or for her sweet KK who ALSO got the flu... from her beloved Kaki-pants! Poor KK!

It wasn't our best trip to CC but in the midst of fevers and flu we made some memories and shared EVEN more love than germs and that is saying something HUGE! :)

And when we got home Caden was super excited to put his Baylor Lamp or "lantern" as he calls it in his room... it was his birthday gift! :)

So life was like a day at the beach for this kid...

Plus, he also got to bring back Uncle Josh's batmobile...

And Ninja Turtle book...

Both of which fed his growing obsession with all things superhero!

In fact... one afternoon while playing dress up... he came out with this outfit as his best attempt at Batman...

So I had to help a kid out... a few markers and some paper later...

And then we found some new undies at Target...

And then he decided to use some of his Christmas money to step it up to the real deal... Batman, Robin and Superman all in one... he was a happy, happy, happy boy the day FedEx delivered his package to our door!

One weekend Justin and I enjoyed a historically warm day with some cocktails during naptime... yum!

A few weeks ago, Kaki and I decided to stop by the park after we dropped C at school... and we went to the COOL big kid park... she was a bit overwhelmed by how much there was to do!

And we'll stop there and keep going in the next post... :)

Catchin' up... catchin' up...

A Family Valentine's Day PAR-TAY... IN...

I was all keyed up for a laid-back, low maintenance Valentine's Day this year. I didn't have anything major planned and had waited until 9pm the night before to run to Target to finish up Cupid's shopping, but when it came down to it and with a little inspiration/persuasion from my little man... we HAD to make it special! We needed a fun, family night in!

So after heart pancakes and surprises to kick off our day we started planning...

We were going to get ALL DRESSED UP in our fanciest RED clothes!

And we attempted to clean up our habits... :)

And we were going to make the table SUPER fancy... :)

And we were going to eat some YUMMY homemade pizza... and then roast some mallos for s'mores...

And then we were going to finish with a GIANT DANCE party!

And the dance party got pretty rowdy.  In fact, I have a HILARIOUS video but darn it if I don't sing through the whole thing and well, that just shouldn't ever be for ears who live outside of my own four walls! :) Sorry! :)

We surprised Daddy when he walked through the door that night and it ended up being the PERFECT way to celebrate the "day of love" with the ones we love the MOST!!
