"Bloggers everywhere say "e." is a MUST read..."

"Critics agree, "e." is hilarious..."

"Only days after she hit the worldwide web, writer Emily Evans is a SMASH hit... "

**************************************************************************************************************************

"Wait just one big fat minute Katie... " you say, "isn't Emily Evans YOUR sister-in-law?"

Yes, folks! You've got it right yet again! I AM in fact kin to the fabulously famous author of "e." If you haven't heard of it... well... you're behind the times... WAY behind! The blog has been in operation since Saturday... it's time to get with the program blog land and visit...

NOW! Pretty Please! If you're not too busy... and heck, even if you are... you should do it... NOW! Well after you finish reading my post, of course...

Now before y'all get your panties in a bundle and begin to think of the one million and one different reasons why she would start this blog, (including to announce that their family of three is expanding) let me tell you how this thing went down...

Emily didn't exactly decide to start a blog, she was more like "invited" to start a blog. Or you could substitute the word "invited" for any one of the following...forced, strongly urged, given no other choice, etc. It was a birthday gift from yours truly and so you see to not use her birthday gift, well... that would be just plain rude... so she is humoring me (literally... I'm in stitches when I read her entries) and blogging...

And thanking ME for her instant fame and popularity!

On "e." she'll be writing about all sorts of things...wine, food, travel, Broadway... and even , dare I say it...Hanson (yes the group with three long-haired boys). And she'll write about these very specific things because well that is how the blog was designed... ha! BUT to my superlative credit I chose this "theme" because she is a LOVER of all of these exquisite things and an aficionado on ALL of these things and where she lacks in innate knowledge she makes up for it in research (the girl can do wonders with a search engine!) and experimentation (she does not test on animals... you would know this if you read her blog... she has a dog... and a pink bear...).

So if the rave reviews up top and her refined tastes and informed commentary of all things exquisite didn't generate enough intrigue to pop on over to "e.", here are a few more...

When visiting "e." you might happen to come across statements like the following...

This is my hubby. He is adorable, sweet as sugar cane, and he likes food and wine as much as I do.  Actually I may like wine a little more than him, but he says that we are the same so I won't be self-conscious...what a dear!

Meet my fam! They taught me about Jesus and how to beat people up.

Unlike most legitimate blogs, I don't have a kid, BUT that's not going to stop me!

Or if you are more of a visual person... a picture of "e.'s" witty writer will say far more than I EVER could, much less 1,000 words...

You're sold, aren't you?! You see the stigma... you see why she has achieved instant stardom don't you?

"How can this beautifully refined, painfully classy Blondy of a belle not be worthy a read," you wonder?!

Well, wonder no longer... there is NO way for "e." not to be a MUST read! So do it and YOU TOO will be thanking me for her instant fame and popularity!

And in an effort to stay true to the likes of "e." I'll be signing-off as Emily ends her illustrious blog entries...

Love y'all. Mean it!

Show my sister some blog love!!!

Ride that Horsey Down to Town...

Yee-Haw! Gather round part-nas! It's time for a little weekend recap...

Me and Hank... Hank that's my horse... Hank... Hank the Horse...

Well, me and Hank (Hank and I, Caden...Hank and I) Right... me and Hank had a bunch of business to tend to this weekend... lots of business!

I was thankful my Albi visited on Saturday because as any cowboy knows, riding the open range can get awful lonely without a buddy... a cowbuddy!

We had a cattle situation to tend to... and you know how those go... real tough, them cattle...real tough! Stubborn son-of-a-guns!

Them cows were spinning circles around me and Hank at first, but then Albi and I were able to split ways and get them back in their herd...

I know I look good in my game-day cowboy duds, but I had serious business to tend to...like I said... serious business... I wasn't too happy about the paparazzi that showed up on the range. Fortunately for them... I left my rifle at home! That woulda taught 'em!

Long story short...we got em back to the pin... but it was not an easy job... not at all! I managed to get home with my body in tact... but my fingernails well that's another story... herdin' cattle is an anxious gig! Makes my nerves real excited...

Back at the ranch KK was there to greet the lone rangers... Albi and me or I or whatever...

She was excited to hear of our successes out in the pasture...

And got a good chuckle at the stories we told of our days' work...including the one that included Albi getting bucked off into a watering hole... no one ever said being a cowboy was easy... Just ask Romo... (joke, joke, joke!!)

After a days' riding it made good sense to get some solid shut eye... I had to ride solo on Sunday...into Georgetown to tend to some matters in town...

I met my other cowbuddies at the bench in front of the coffee shop and talked over the latest news...

And wouldn't you know... that dang paparazzi showed up again... dad-gum they're relentless! And again they caught me rifle-less!!

My cowbuddies and me (Cowbuddies and I, I, Caden...) Right... my cowbuddies and me... we always have a good knee-slappin' laugh... them boys are too funny for their own good!

Now I'm back at the ranch, enjoying a little Sundee night football before I hit the hay... (and I mean that figuratively of course... us cowboys have REAL beds now... hay is for the birds!)

Night all!

Mommy, It's Cold Outside...

...It's time to break out my fall duds...

We've enjoyed a rainy, cooler week here in Central Texas! We couldn't be happier to see fall make its debut! I couldn't help but be photo crazy this week with Caden all cuddly and cozy in his cooler-weather-wear...

Stepped on a book so I did the splits... eek!

Reading my books like such a big boy!

Yo girl, what's up?!

Football Frowns :(

Well the weekend with friends and family was fun but both of our football teams left us frowning by Sunday's end... :(

We headed up to Waco for the first BU home game this weekend... It was our first time to take Caden to a Baylor event... needless to say we were super excited but also a little weary of what our first experience would be like.

All week we had been seeing the glorious weather forecast for Game Day... 85 and cloudy... no problem! We could totally handle that... Caden would be cool and we would surely be able to make it to half time right?!

When we woke up Saturday morning the weather was gorgeous... cool, breezy, sunny... so we got dressed in our first of two BU outfits for the day and headed to eat breakfast at Cafe Cappuccino for Nana's birthday! YUM!!

After breakfast it was becoming increasingly warm outside. Still having faith in the "weather man" we were assured that the clouds would soon be rolling in and the temperatures would come to a halt...

So we headed home and did a little pre-game workout before nap time...

After nap time Great Poppa and Great Gran had arrived and it was time to get the party started...

(This is the guy Caden gets his GINORMO head from... see the resemblance??!!)

The rest of the Cox crew headed to the stadium before our little family of three. They were tailgating before the big game, but we decided that the game was all that we would be able to handle, so we put Caden down for his afternoon nap and waited... and waited... then we couldn't take it anymore... the excitement was too great. We woke him up, got him dressed and hit the road. Almost an hour later we were inside the stadium with only one meltdown so far!!

So I know you're all curious about the weather... the clouds? The temps? NO CLOUDS... RISING TEMPS! SWEAT!! LOTS OF SWEAT! And red, RED, RED cheeks for the Cade-man! Poor, sweet thing... he was pretty miserable! Between the sun, the Bjorn, and his Daddy's body heat he was "cooked!" We did the best we could and entertaining him in the stands and were successful for about 1 quarter...and thankfully that was the most exciting part of the game... Baylor scored right out of the gates and we all cheered...

Well Caden didn't so much cheer... he cried... but can you blame a kid? His Daddy jumped up in the air with him and the CROWD WENT WILD... and Caden decided that football games were not what he was wild about...

We were able to see a few friends and feel the electricity of another football season, so all in all game day was a success... as much success as it can be with a 8.5 month old on a HOT Saturday afternoon!

We are keeping our fingers crossed for cooler weather by Homecoming... surely... right??!!

After the game we picked up some dinner and headed back to the house... stripped down the Cade-man and let him cool off!

It was early to bed for lil man that night and for Mommy and Daddy too...

And hopefully for the Bears also... they have lots of work to do before next game! We're still hopeful for an improved Baylor football season... notice I say improved... just improved... that's all we ask... Sic 'em!

And as many of our fellow Cowboy fans out there know, Sunday didn't go much better for us... BUT Caden was sportin' his Romo jersey that his Uncle Josh and Aunt Emily got him all day yesterday...

I would hate to think that Caden is the bad luck charm?!!! :) Not possible!! Look at that face...

This morning we decided to turn our frowns upside down and smile about a great week at home...

Happy Monday!!

"What Did Y'all Do This Afternoon," asks Daddy?

"Well, not too much of anything... we were a pretty laid back duo today... just laid on the couch and read books... watched Praise Baby... you know..."

"PSYCHE!!"

"The Cade-man was "on-the-go" ALL afternoon!!"

On your mark...

Get set...

GO!!!!!!!

The "Bonanza" theme is highly appropriate here!!

And he's off...

Roundin' the corner to the stairs... what fun... up I go...

Hey... there's my ball... I think I'll play chase now...

Uh oh... hit it a little farther than I'd intended...

Gotcha!! Now for the turn around...

Oh yah... we're not done yet ball!! Come back here!!

Ah ha! In a corner... you're trapped! What's that?! You want your mommy??!! Too bad ball... you're mine!!!

(After the ball's "mommy" rescued him from the corner...)

Ooooo, Mommy's pretty red bag... I wonder if it tastes like...

NOOOOOOOOO! Mommy says, NO NO! Can you imagine what kind of germies are on the bottom of that thing... isn't that like the worst place for germs? Ick!

Okay so no red bag... how about this little boingy thing?!

Taste test... APPROVED!! Magnificent!

Oh wow... there are those stair guys again... up I go... (again and again and again!) (He can crawl by himself to the landing... I know... T-R-O-U-B-L-E!)

Action shot... biting that bottom lip with grit and determination...

Check out my teefies!! Aren't they purty?!

WOAH!! A ledge... I never noticed this before... C-O-O-L!!! Move over Mr. Bob!

Ah... the outside world...

AWESOME!!! Hey everyone!! I'm Caden and I'm stuck in my house... HELP!!

Hmmm... that sun stuff is coming into my house... I think I better go check it out!

Yah, Mom... it's okay... no vampires, just a few shadows!!

But just to be sure... I'll go check it out one more time...

And there he goes...crawling off into the sunset...

My lil man is a mover and shaker... and also a WAVER!! He can FINALLY do it... So if you were a fly on our wall these days you'd hear a lot of...

"Caden...Hi... Hi Caden!"

"Caden, can you wave at Daddy?"

"Say Hi Daddy! Wave!"

He did it for the first time last weekend when we were in San Antonio... I have a video of it... I'll have to post it soon! There are lots of other exciting things to post... well mainly pictures, but I'll save that for a later post...

For now you'll have to settle for Caden and Katie's Afternoon Delight!

Love y'all!!
