A Bittersweet Weather Day

I feel kind of guilty writing this post about our WONDERFUL day outdoors... in the cool, dry, breezy weather... because while we were out enjoying the brisk air of fall SO many in and around Austin were fighting HUGE wildfires, evacuating their homes and deciding what ,if anything they can take with them as they head for safety! It is a heartbreaking scene around here and a sobering reminder that all of this stuff is just stuff... and it can be gone in a second!! Dear Lord please send us rain... please oh please!!

But despite the fact that the fires were burning all around we did manage to get out and about and enjoy this GORGEOUS fall day... with a nice, long walk around the park and a stop to check out the dinosaurs of Central Texas! :)

Sweet Kaki was content to just go along for the ride...

Later this afternoon we were back outside enjoying the day... in the buff... sorry neighbors! :)

And with a Popsicle!

And yes... you guessed it... Kaki just chilled in her rocker... smiling and giggling at her friends hanging down from the arch... they are pretty hilarious, apparently! She loves being outside... and unfortunately we can count the times she has gotten to spend outside on three fingers... 1, 2, 3... that is it!! Bring on the fall!! And bring on the great outdoors!! Kaki and I are READY!!

Tomorrow is Caden's first day back at school... he had meet the teacher last Thursday and he has a FANTASTIC teacher this year... we are thrilled!! I can't wait to see how much he learns and changes again this year! Wish us luck tomorrow morning... could be a rough drop off for Caden... and maybe even for Mommy even though I swore up and down that I would be excited... and NOT sad! But alas... when it comes down to it... even with the toddler-toot that he is... I love him and I might just miss him!! Tear!

Stay tuned for more pics and details from our first day adventures!!

Happy Labor Day!
