Second Week We Were Homeless

Before we took a Bluebonnet intermission, we left off in Nac... where we spent the week with sweet Whitters and his pups! But the fun had to end sometime...

So it was back home for us...

But a home we didn't have at the time...

So we hoteled it!

In Salado...

Thank you SXSW for taking every hotel room within a 35 mile radius of Austin and making any room that you might find at least $300/night. Lesson learned: do not become homeless in the middle of SXSW again.

And again... I use the term homeless loosely and not in poor taste. I realize that true homelessness is the reality of so many people and while this may have been our circumstance it was certainly not our truth. I am thankful for the resources, friends and family who were available to us during our two week break from owning a home! :) Okay... I just had to say that!

So here the kids are in Salado...

All tucked in for the night!

During the day we traveled back to G-town to hang out with friends and eat at Schlotzsky's... which all tolled we ate at at least 6 times in two weeks! And Chipoltle twice in 48 hours! We were seriously ragamuffining it that day! YIKERS! And they looked cute compared to what I looked like! Hashtag moving!

After three nights in our hotel it was time to move out and INTO our new home! Our stuff wouldn't come for a few days, but we didn't care... it was a free place to stay and it was ours. Blow up mattresses and paper goods it was!

Gypsy luggage cart...

Oh and I had two kids somewhere too... we were quite the spectacle that day... :)

We relied pretty heavily on some sweet friends to entertain us throughout the week. We had pop-in playdates, lunch breaks, happy hours... you name it! We are so thankful for our friends!!

One such play date led to be sporting an AWESOME sunburn at Chipotle! I had on a sweater and pants and got the worst burn I've had in years... :) This pic was only an hour after... it got worse! My scalp and face hadn't started to redden yet... But I wouldn't have traded my afternoon in my friend's backyard enjoying the sunshine for anything!! :)

And then... as if it had all been a dream... we were in.

And were swinging on our porch swing...

And we did what any family does after the move-in .... GO TO IKEA!! We were loaded up!!

And now...

Life as we have come to know it moves on...

In our new home...

In the same city...

With the same friends...

And the same family...

And we are ever so grateful for all of it!
