As promised we are back with some Fall happenings... mainly football... and Baylor football at that! It's an exciting time of year at our house. The band music is always playing, there are always a pair or two of cymbals laying around, band hats adorned... football scattered, helmets sweated in, rally towels waving, foam fingers pointing, Go Bears shouting! It's a big time!
C and Justin have season tickets again this year and they have been LIVING IT UP! It is such a fun thing for them to experience together and we are so fortunate that we have in-laws who live in town to make the experience even more lively that it might be otherwise. They have been to every home game so far... Has it been three, already? Crazy!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch Kaki and I get some home time. Sometimes we travel to Waco but then others we just hang out around the town... do some park playing and enjoy our day without those stinky boys!
It wasn't too long after the season got going that Kaki realized that there was something happening in Waco that she did not want to miss out on! The excitement was in the air and she wanted a taste...
And she'd get one... it would have to wait a few games though...
One of C's favorite parts of the game experience (actually he LOVES it all) is March of the Bears... he loves it. He loves giving everyone high fives and he thinks that everyone "remembers him." He often says, "I think they remembered me, that cool dude, from last game!" Right... his confidence is still on full blast!
Lache... he and Caden share a number... 2-5 what, what!!
He's a happy guy on Baylor days... and he lives on the excitement ALL week...
So there is the march of the bears... and then there is the band... which Caden HAS to watch warm-up before he goes into the stadium to take his seat... there is a whole routine and not one step can be missed...
Still loves his Tubas!
He loves Touchdown Alley and playing all the games... even though he said they can be really hard! :)
And he loves his SWAG!
So as if he has any time to fit anything else into his already packed schedule, he manages to fit in some tailgating with his Nana and Bop! Hot dogs... hamburgers... chips...dip... cookies... cupcakes... all the while he get to play catch with his football... he comes home bruised from all of his self-induced tackling, but he could care less he loves every second of it!
As the game is nearing the end he makes his way to the bottom of the stands so he can be one of the first ones to play on the field after the game... and to see Bruiser... it's amazing how long we've come with Bruiser... two years ago the only thing he'd say at the games was, "Where dat Bear, Bop?" He did not want anything to do with that Bear and now they are buds! :)
Oh and there is always a corn dog in there somewhere... :)
After the game he tries to catch the attention of some of his fav Bears for a few pics... :)
Last weekend... October 5th, the Bears were doing a special promotion for the game called "Bring the Bling." They wanted everyone to wear gold, sparkle and bling to cheer on the Bears as they wore their new SHINY gold helmets for their first night game. So... I decided that we would REALLY bring the bling and purchased myself a can of metallic spray paint and got busy! :)
We were so excited to do these the week leading up the game as a way to get everyone pumped up... especially our Kaki girl... it was going to be her FIRST game and we had lots of celebrating to do!!
So the gold shoes were pretty much awesome and the kids thought they were the coolest thing and of course Caden was concerned that the football Baylor notice them... and they did! He got a shout out at March of the Bears and that made his year!! :)
The same Saturday as our Bring the Bling fun we celebrated our Aunt Ree Ree's 30th birthday! OLD!! Hard to believe she has joined the thirty-somethings! We had a fun Minute-to-Win-It style party to help her ring in another year of life!!
These two love their Aunt Ree Ree!
The games turned out to be super fun and the teams were not so much evenly split but that's what happens when you leave it to chance by drawing numbers...
Justin and Trent pretty much took home the gold but despite not winning a single game, we all had fun!
And even had to bust out the ladder to get a shoe off the roof...
And of course we celebrated all victories... even if they weren't complete...
UGH... what a show-off!
Happy Birthday Aunt Ree Ree... what a fun day celebrating you!!! Here's to 30!!
After the birthday fun it was time to head to the stadium for the big event... and the weather turned cool... and then cold... in October... glorious!!
My little gold-shoed cuties!!
Kaki playin' some ball...
Bean bags...
We did it all... Kaki got the FULL experience... the BAND!
The Cheerleaders!!
The fam pic!
The individual fam pic...
The Cousin Cheerleader pic...
I promise she was having a good time she was just a bit overwhelmed by all the action... trying to take it all in!! :)
Her Daddy was forcing her hand to get some fives from the Bears... ha!
We met a super nice Cheerleader that insisted Kaki play with her pom-pom... too bad she didn't realize that Kaki is scared of pom-poms! :)
There's a smile... the grands with the kids!!
My littlest Bear fan...
Justin took Kaki to he and Caden's seats for the first part of the game and let me have some time with my main man at the game. I hadn't ever experience his excitement in person so I was excited to sit with him and for him to give me the play by play of all of the events leading up to the game...
Being silly in our seats...
Kaki did well for the first quarter but by the end of it she was cold, tired and not wanting to sit still any longer... ready to move, so we traded kids and headed back to the house to hang until the game was over...
When we got back, we hung out with G-dawg and Aunt Ree Ree who left the game too and then Kaki decided to play t-ball?! :) Not really sure what brought that on, but she thought it to be a fabulous idea! :)
We picked Caden and Justin up right at the end of the 3rd quarter and headed home... the kids were asleep in not time and in fact poor C didn't make it much past the door before he gave in to the sleepies again! :)
It has been a FUN start to the football season and we can't wait for more exciting wins for our Bears!! Go Bears! Sic 'em! Baylor Bears Fight!! Am I missing anything?!!
Oh... and a post wouldn't be complete (at least for his adoring fans) without a pic of our newest Baylor Bear... in his green!! :) Whitters!!

It was a wonderful weekend! We enjoy the day long events of each football game. Having everyone there makes it so much fun! The gold shoes were a brilliant idea! Such a hit!
