Sunny-Side Up: REWIND: August Photo Dump

I'm gonna catch back up in a flash...

Well 71 flashes to be exact... pics that take us from the end of our beach trip through the end of August...

By the time we got home from Port A we were pretty much done with traveling... not that we didn't love every second of it, but we were excited to get to experience a little taste of summer in our hometown...

It wasn't until late July/early August that we made it to the city pools!! We were ready to explore... and that we did.

We played at the park... we had a few "coolish" days in here and there and we took every chance we could to enjoy them.

We painted rocks on the porch...

Took bubble baths before lunch...

And enjoyed every bit of those lazy summer days...

In late July, Justin and I celebrated 9 years of wedded bliss... :) So we made the kids sit down and watch the video from our rehearsal dinner... it was great! :)

We did finally make it to the pool... we tried two different spots and found a 4 o clock fav... the perfect after nap treat!

In August or maybe it was still July, I had an appointment with my allergist... actually I had to find a new one since my old one moved into the big city... and I had been having some trouble with my allergies and needed some help...

Well, turns out... girlfriend had some uncontrolled asthma... WHAT?!

After my lung test that I failed terribly... I got to sit and have a breathing treatment... which the kids thought was crazy, weird and cool all at the same time! Then I got another lung test...

What I planned on being a quick in and out visit turned into a 2 hour appointment...

But I got some new meds and I must say I didn't realize that I couldn't breath until I COULD!! And it's so nice!! :) GO figure! ;)

Kaki loves to try her hand at photography... she is hoping to build up her client base in baby photography...

I decided to dust off the rackets and get back to playing... it's only been 5 years...

So the day before I played tennis for the first time... in 5 years... I ruptured my plantar fascia... bye-bye tennis for 4+ weeks... got a fancy new set of orthotics coming my way soon... hoping to help with the pitiful feet I've got! :) Pitiful as they are I am still very thankful for them... don't get me wrong!!

We were SO ready for them to come and celebrate!!

And Kaki had her outfit picked out...

And then the stomach bug hit... and we were down... one... then two... and then three!! Everyone but Kaki got hit! So we had to postpone our party plans with Kk and Albi and tell them not to come! It was so sad... :(

BUT they were sweet enough to send me my present... so when we were all feeling a better that weekend we went to IKEA to get our new drawers!!!!

And then we got to eat bland food and build all weekend!! :)

And I did get to steal a cupcake from Gigi's... and a cool shaped coke!

And my family sang to me...

And ate them with me!

So despite the change in plans it was still a great birthday... I was home with all of my birdies and we were safe inside our nest!! We celebrated together and it was fabulous! I am grateful! AND in the 24 hours of my actual birthday I cleaned up NO bodily evacuations... the day before and after were different stories, but Caden took a 24 hour break just for me... I'm sure of it!! :) And I got a birthday redo... keep reading!

Disney is smart... they promo the RIGHT things during the RIGHT shows and make the most of their ad-space... one night they were promo-ing this new ap... and so of course we HAD to have it... it was free... and check it out... Caden got to be Butchy... like for real!! :)

Sweet Kaki... loves her some tutu... but the washing machine has been rough on the thing... tutus probably need to be hand-washed, but ain't no body got time for that!

So the week after my birthday we decided that we were going to go to CC to see KK and Albi for a birthday redo...

When Caden woke up like this... with ooze and coming out of one eye and the saddest of saddest tears streaming down his face because of the pain his eye was causing him, I thought... oh no... THE PINK EYE... so much for our birthday redo...

So I texted Kk and asked, "You okay with getting the pink eye?!"

And when the alternative the week before was the stomach bug, she said, "Sure thing!"

But thankfully a quick trip to Minute Clinic proved that it was no pink eye (even though he told everyone who would listen in the waiting area he had the pink eye) just three stubborn eyelashes that had inverted themselves back into his eyeball... the scene was pretty gross and I was thankful that she was able to get them out... and she didn't have to used the dreaded tweezers. Caden saw her whip those things out and panic ensued... major panic! He was NOT having it... the cold wash cloth and lots of persistence prevailed! Praise God!

It was a teachable moment for mommy too... check for eyelashes next time, apparently that happens! :) So once we got those eyelashes under control we hopped into the car and headed south...
