2012 Cox Fam Olympics!!

Well, it's hot! And when your kids have had LOTS of swim time, and honestly you just don't think you have it in you to do the whole lube and load another day... especially on a Friday... what do you do?

You decide to host your very own Cox Family Olympic Games! Because let's be honest... the Olympics may or may not be the reason you've lost that extra pep in your step... STAYING UP TOO LATE is rough on this ol' broad! :) 

I've seen several people on facebook and a few in the blog world who have done their version of the Olympics... either in party form or something fun for their playgroups and families. But, as with anything, you've got to make it all your own... so we did just that.

First, we printed off some coloring pages and to get us in the mood... some Olympic Rings... some flags... the warm-up... the decor... it was all so important!

Maybe she'll be my colorer?!! Maybe?!

Then we rolled out our poster paper and went at it... to make a "HUGE" Olympic banner to string up across the room! With two little ones especially one ever-curious 13 month old... we had about 5.5 seconds to complete our poster... and that was an Olympic RECORD!

All day we dreamed up our games and sought out all of the necessary supplies. We texted Daddy to tell him to get ready and and we did what ALL serious athletes do in the Olympic Village (according to most reports, anyway)... we NAPPED!! Glorious! While the kids napped I went to work... making medals... putting together our line-up... I was ready!

And so were they... in their red, white and blue!! GO USA!! Ahem... Round Rock!

After Daddy got home and donned his "olympic" attire we hosted the Opening Ceremonies. We walked from one end of the apartment to the other, which wasn't a big deal for anyone but Kaki-pants... she and Daddy were a bit behind Caden and I... but it meant we got some GREAT pics. Caden and Kaki both had a torch to carry, Daddy carried the flag... and I was the one with the "where you are from" sign.

Then we lit our "eternal flame" on the table. Placed our flag in its holder and our sign served as our backdrop... now it was time to EAT!!

We scarfed down our pizza because we were ready for the GAMES TO BEGIN!

Back to the bath we went for DIVING...

The object was to use air from your MOUTH to BLOW the "man" into the tub... sending him DIVING to the bottom of the pool!!

Next up... CYCLING!! We had to video this one... it was just too intense of a race not to!

Hehe... oh you never can tell what will happen at the Olympics!!
