First Day of School

Today is Caden's first day of school... I cannot believe it is already here! I was chatting with Caden's teacher from last year in the hallway this morning and she said, "What a difference a year makes!" Last year Kaki was just a secret in God's little book and now she is here, tagging along as we drop off big brother at school... oh what a difference a year makes!

This morning Caden requested Elmo pancakes for breakfast, which is hilarious because I have only made him Elmo pancakes ONE other time... and that was for his 2nd birthday! But apparently, he thought that the first day of school surely required such food... I was kind of hoping he would have said donuts! :) But alas, who am I to deprive the boy of his wishes! :)

I got up extra early this morning to try to get us all out the door, dressed, etc. I even managed to put make-up on and have freshly washed hair! Victory... at least at this point in the morning I am thinking so... keep reading...

First day of school pics are essential... and this time it was all about big brother... we were running a bit late so no time to drag the nap nanny and blanket and Kaki out for a few pics... just the big boy today!!

He got syrup on his face this morning and it left that mark on his face?! Strange huh?!

What a difference a year makes...

Sweet boy with some morning light on his face... :)

He did great at drop-off this morning. Walked right in and started playing while I got things settled in his cubby. When I said goodbye and gave him one last hug he started to cry, but within minutes he was redirected and doing just fine! :) I cannot WAIT to hear about his day!!

And here is the part when my "together" morning takes a bit of a turn... not a bad one... but a funny one! I walk back out to the parking lot with my friend Lesley who is helping me carry the snap n go stroller she is KINDLY letting me borrow for Miss Kaki and I find this...

Oops... forgot to shut the door on the way into school... fail... it had only been like that for 15-20 minutes! :)

AND I also forgot Caden's blanket for nap time... BUT a quick trip back home and we were A-OK for the day...

All in all, an open door and a forgotten blanket aren't too bad for our first morning of school! :)

Here's to messy hair, workout clothes and frozen waffles on Thursday!! That is REALLY how I prefer to roll... :)
