Kaki and I are rocking along at 29 weeks as of yesterday... I can't believe we are nearly 10 weeks away... WHAT?! Last week Kaki and I went in for a check-up... which included the oh so fun gestational diabetes test and other blood work! And drum roll please....
I PASSED! YAY! I was nervous... I failed with Caden and had to do the 3 hour test which is not my favorite way to spend three hours, so I was ELATED to hear the news! I did, however, have one little red flag that popped up after my blood work came back from the tests. I am a little bit anemic and was given some iron supplements to help me give me a boost! AND I have an excuse to have Justin cook/take me out for a yummy steak dinner once a week now too! Other than that slight bit of abnormal news the rest of the appointment went great... heartbeat was good, measuring right on track, etc. Keep it up Kaki-girl!!
One of the things Justin and I did on Sunday when we got back to the Rock was go shopping for our sweet girl! I know it MUST be second child syndrome, but we feel like we have neglected Miss Kaki-pants a bit and not focused enough on her... I mean her room is NO WHERE close to being done and Caden's was wrapped up in a nice pretty bow well before now when we were doing this with him! AND we were always buying him little things here and there... SO we decided it was time... we needed to have a little stock the closet shopping trip!
It was SO MUCH FUN! Pink, ruffles, cherries, ice cream cones, flowers, bows... I cannot get enough of all of the cute options out there! I LOVE boy clothes, BUT ooooo are girl clothes fun??!! The girlier the BETTER! Miss Kaki is going to be ALL girl...
Well, I say she'll be ALL girl... that is except for the "if we get desperate" pile of clothes that KK and I pulled out of Caden's buckets today... PJ's, onesies, gowns, etc. I mean you never know when you might not have any clean laundry and she'll have no choice but to wear a planes and trains sleeper! :)
Speaking of KK... and buckets... and sorting through clothes...
On Monday when KK brought Caden back to Round Rock she stayed and helped me CLEAN, PURGE and ORGANIZE... we have LOTS to still do, but she helped us get a GREAT start! It's amazing how much stuff we pack into our little closets! KK is the GREATEST when it comes to knowing what to keep and what to chunk... years and years of moving have served her skills well! I am afraid we are going to WEAR her out well before Kaki gets here and that is when I am REALLY going to need her, so hopefully I can keep up the pace and do a little bit more each and every day...
In fact, those were KK's orders, "It's time to start doing something each and every day, even if it's only for 30 minutes!" It's time?! I know... it really is! Three more closets and a pantry to go and then there is Kaki's room to do!!
BUT... even amongst the mounds of things I WANT to accomplish before sweet Kaki gets here the ONLY thing that I NEED to accomplish is to take care of my two babies... so... I'm trying to take a deep breath and stay focused... the most important things in life are in NO way related to closets, paint and organization! :) Which is completely against the nesting instinct that pregnancy boasts!! Another lesson in patience, yes?! YES!
Kaki-girl... we love you SO very much... and are so glad you are a part of our growing family! You have already been the perfect splash of pink... excited for you to color our world even more when you make your grand entrance into life on the outside!! :)
Happy 29 Weeks Kaki-pants!!
